Usman Dan Fodio University, formerly known as the University of Sokoto) was founded in 1975 as one of Nigeria’s first twelve federal universities. It is located in Sokoto, an ancient city. Usman Dan Fodio, the founder of the Sokoto Caliphate, is honoured with the school’s name.
The administrative offices, sciences, social sciences, agriculture, arts, languages, education, and research facilities are all located on the main campus. The college of health sciences and the school of veterinary medicine are located on the city campus.

1. University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, or FUNAAB, (FUNAAB), was founded on January 1, 1988, by the Federal Government, when four technology universities that had previously merged in 1984 were demerged. As a result, the first two agricultural universities were established in Abeokuta and Makurdi.
