Who is Dr Sid and what is Dr Sid’s net worth? Sidney Onoriode Esiri popularly known with his stage name ‘DR SID‘ was born in Ikeja, Lagos but he hails from Urhobo in Delta State the south southern part of Nigeria.

Dr. Sid was born on the 1st Of May, 1980 to the legendary actor late Justice Esiri popularly known for the role he played in the old soap opera that aired from 1968 to 1988 “Village Headmaster“. His mother is a fashion designer.

Dr. Sid is a singer, songwriter, dentist, stage performer, and entertainer.

Childhood and Early Life

Dr. Sid was born and brought up in Lagos State, he went to Nigerian Airforce Secondary School Ikeja, Lagos State where he obtained his West Africa Senior School Certificate.

After obtaining his West Africa School Certificate, Dr Sid proceeded to the University Of Ibadan where he studied Dental Surgery. This made him a Dentist professionally.

During his university days, he took parts in different concerts, dance competitions, stage plays, and winning multiple awards.

Dr Sid: Music Career

Dr Sid started his career in 1999 when he worked with Tribesmen as a choreographer. Later, he got the opportunity to join the members of Da trybe to release a hit song ‘OYA’ with 2Shots, Sasha, Del, Timi Dakolo, Freestyle, Eldee, and Kb.

He went for his Master’s degree in the United Kingdom and met JJC, 419 Squad, R70, Kas, Felix Duke and Dbanj.

He later returned to Nigeria after his Master’s degree and worked in the Lagos Teaching Hospital and went for his National Youth Service Corps in Yola, Adamawa State.

He has worked in various dental clinics but did not forget his passion for music.

Later in 2007, Dr. Sid took a bold step to quit practicing as a dentist and focus his attention on his music career. He signed a recording deal with one of the best record label Mo Hit records owned by Don Jazzy.

He featured in 7 of the 15 tracks released by Mo Hits Allstars in December 2007 titled collective album Curriculum Vitae (CV) which include the popular ‘Booty Call’ and ‘Close to you’.

The dentist spent 2006, 2007, and 2008 with Mo hits Allstars touring around the wold and performing at most of the major events in the country including Thisday Music Festival and Star Mega Jam.

Dr Sid released his first studio album with Mo Hits record under Don Jazzy in April 2010 titled ‘Turning Point’ He had some hit tracks ‘Something About You’, ‘Pop Something’. ‘Over The Moon’ which topped most Nigeria music charts then.

After Don Jazzy and Dbanj went their separate ways and dissolved Mo Hits record, Dr Sid move with Don Jazzy who started a new record label known as Mavin Records. Tiwa Savage was also a part of Marvin Records before her recent move to another record label in 2019.

In 2013, Dr Sid released another album titled ‘Siduction’ under Mavin records. He has some hit tracks that made waves in it like Surulere, Baby Tornado featuring Alexandre Burke, Oyari featuring Tiwa Savage, Last Bus Stop.

Personal Life

Dr Sid got married in August 2014 to Simisola Osomo his longtime girlfriend and their union has been blessed.

Dr Sid and wife Simisola are blessed with 2 beautiful girls. The first girl Sidney was born in 2015 and they welcomed their second baby girl on Christmas eve at 3.42am in 2018, they named her Sarah.
